St. Peter’s ‘B’ emerge Champs
St. Peter’s ‘B’ came out on top against St. Sebastian’s ‘B’ in the final of the Under-17 Division II Cricket final by 4 wickets to emerge champions.
During the closely contested final played at Thursdan ground St. Sebastian’s ‘B’ batted first and lost early wickets. Shane Fernando came to their rescue with a well timed knock of 68 and with support from Dishen de Mel and Dimithra Perera, they put up a respectable total of 196.
St. Peter’s ‘B’ in their run chase too underwent some anxious moments. They lost two quick wickets early but Himsara Ranadeni, who hit a captain’s knock of 80, along with Mayura Samarawickrama and Nirosh Perera, saw the Petes through and raced to the target in the 48th. - MSA
