The Colombo Medical School Alumni Association (CoMSAA), comprising past graduates and staff members of the Medical Faculty of the University of Colombo, will hold its Annual Academic Sessions and Reunion on September 2 and 3 at the Hotel Jetwing Blue, Negombo.
Even though the Colombo Medical School is in its 148th year, CoMSAA was formed only in 2011 but has over 750 members. In a major membership drive, this year’s CoMSAA President, Dr. Sarath Gamini De Silva, has undertaken to make it 1,000 before the end of the year.
Apart from the annual academic sessions and reunions, CoMSAA has been involved in many activities over the past six years. These include providing the students of the Colombo Medical Faculty with facilities for their studies by improving the infrastructure in the study areas, providing books and appliances for needy students and helping them in unforeseen situations.

Many scholarships have also been provided to students by the alumni and others through CoMSAA, while sponsoring teams of medical students to take part in competitions and conferences abroad.

From this year, CoMSAA will sponsor research workshops in the Medical Faculty.

The President and the Council of CoMSAA invite all members and those eligible to be members to attend the Annual Academic Sessions and Reunion in Negombo next weekend. For more details, please contact mobiles: 0766853533, 0718048589 or 0713223378 or e-mail: comsaa2011@gmail.com.
