Bank of Ceylon Wellawatte
I have had the misfortune to be at the Bank of Ceylon, Wellawatte branch on August 21 to make a deposit of cash to the Road Development Authority. (RDA) for usage of the electronic gate at the Katunayake Expressway. The time was 9.10 am and only one bank counter was in operation. There were by now over 50 persons waiting to be served. On inquiring as to why only one counter was open, I was told that the other counter clerks had not yet turned up for work. Mind you this is 9.10 am. The bank is supposed to be open at 8.30 am. I looked around for the Manager but the manager’s office was also empty.
The Wellawatte branch of the BOC is possibly one of the most crowded and active branches of the bank. Why this step motherly treatment? Over to you BOC Chairman for necessary action.
