K.K. Ridma Nishadi, a student of Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda, won the award for the Best Athlete at the Southern Province Schools Sports Festival 2017. Nishadi won the Long Jump and Triple Jump events in the Girls’ Under-20 age category.
In the National Schools Games in 2016, Nishadi won the Girls’ Under-19 Long Jump event, renewing a record that existed for two decades. She was named the Most Outstanding Athlete for her performance. She also won the Girls’ Under-19 Long Jump and Triple Jump event at the Southern Province Schools Sports Festival in 2016, where she was named the Best Female Athlete.
