‘When the 4 Saints Go Marching In’
The Past Pupils’ Association, Convent of Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa will gather at the school grounds on Sunday, 3rd September 2017 from 8.00am. onwards to bring forth goodwill and fellowship at the Sports Festival ‘When the 4 Saints go Marching In’.
The preparations have been ongoing for the past 2-3 months where the four houses namely St. Therese, St. Maria Goretty, St. Lucy and St. Bernadette, have grouped themselves into the respective houses to take part in the lineup of events. The preliminary rounds was held at the school premises on Sunday 27th August and a large number of young and not-so-young past pupils who enthusiastically took part in the games of Net Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton and Track and Field events, with St. Bernadette leading the points table and St. Therese falling short by just one point at second place.
There will be a lineup of exciting and fun filled events to take place on 3rd September 2017.
The day’s programme will start off with assembly and prayers conducted by the past Principals, followed by the traditional sports rituals.
The Basket Ball final Match will be the start up for the day’s events, followed by a number of fun events to be taken part in groups or individually. The end would be the ever challenging tug-o-war by the four houses.
To add colour to the day, there will be an enthralling Drill-display, a fancy dress parade and DJ music in addition to the continuous ‘Papare’ music to keep the day alive.
Mouth watering and tantalising food stalls will be run by the school’s teachers’ guild adding taste to fellowship of the Alma-mater
Another highlight of the Sports Fiesta will be when the Western Band of the Past Pupils’ leads the march past where you could witness ‘the 4 saints go marching in’.
The day would come to an end when all the Victorians’ join on the dance floor(the school grounds) to party till sundown to the beats of the DJ.
You may attend the event preferably in the school Uniform or the Event T-shirt which you may purchase from the organizing committee. The entrance fee will be a minimal Rs. 300/-
A member of the organising Committee of the Past Pupils Association said that they looks forward to having all Past Victorians’ attend this memorable day and to keep the OLV Spirit and unity glowing and growing from strength to strength.
