View(s):The Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka intends to launch a Pakistani Alumni Society of Sri Lanka to provide support to prospective Sri Lankan students going to Pakistan for their higher education. The Alumni Society it is believed will strengthen close relations between the people of Pakistan and Sri Lanka by providing scholarship programmes.
It is learned that the Alumni Society will build networks among the public and private sectors and the civil society providing professional opportunities that will contribute to the development of two countries. The Alumni Society will also engage its members and provide them help to learn, integrate, and share what they have learned during their education/training in Pakistan, for the benefit of the larger community.
It is also hoped to explore opportunities for exchange visits by Alumni members. Also it will provide guidance, useful information/tips and contacts for fresh graduates from the two countries. Sri Lankans who have received professional qualifications or attended short or long term training programmes in Pakistan are eligible to join the Society.
