Saikia leads BSC win
View(s):A brilliant all-round effort by Pradyun Saikia helped the British School in Colombo record a massive 176-run win over Colombo International School (CIS) in an Under-15 Inter-International School Cricket match played on Monday in Panadura. Saikia scored an unbeaten 123 off 75 balls with 20 boundaries and two sixes and picked up two for nine runs to register a resounding victory.
Batting first, BSC cricketers amassed a massive 309 in their 29 overs for the loss of four wickets largely thanks to the quick-fire century by Saikia and Rahul Chigullapalli who scored 71 off 50 balls including four sixes. Captain Kavinda Subasinghe made 37 runs off 22 balls including three sixes to increase the ran-rate.
Chasing a massive total CIS, Colombo never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Saikia (2/9), Subaasinghe 2/9 ,Vishnu Praveen 2/6 were the main destroyers Ahamed Haniff scored 44 runs for CIS. BSC thrash Gateway, Kandy
In their next game, BSC beat Gateway, Kandy by 42 runs in parabola system in their rain affected U-15 fixture played at St. John’s ground in Panadura on Wednesday.
British School cricketers scored 185 for nine in their 29 overs with some useful contributions from Pardyun Saikia (40), Vishnu Praveen (42) an Karn Kashyap (38).
Captain Kavinda Subasinghe destroyed the Gateway batting claiming four for three runs while, Rex Nannyakkara (2/14), Vishnu Praveen (2/11) combined to reduce Gateway for 48 for nine in 12 overs when rain interrupted play.
