St. Joseph’s record massive win
St. Joseph’s recorded a massive 312-run win over St. Patrick’s Jaffna in their annual Under-19 Rector’s Trophy Cricket encounter concluded at Darley Road yesterday. In the process they retained the trophy which was inaugurated last year.
The second day’s play saw St. Joseph’s opting to bat the second time and making a score of 140 for 6 declared from 35 overs of batting with Shevaan Rasool making an unbeaten 56. Earlier the visitors crashed to 38 all out in replay the Josephian first innings total of 285 for 8 declared.
St. Patrick’s set a massive target of 388 runs for victory succumbed again to Ashen Daniel who ended with a seven wicket haul as St. Patrick’s were all out for 75 runs in their second inning too. Ashan ended with a match bag of 12 for 31 runs.

Ananda Sastralaya Kotte dominated proceedings on day one against Asoka MV Colombo in the match played at Kotte. Ananda Sastralaya after bowling out Asoka MV for a low score of 120 ended the day on 174 for 5. This match will be continued today.
