Matara Beach cleaned on International Beach Day
View(s):With the participation of the Coast Conservation Dept., arrangements were made to celebrate International Beach Day, by cleaning the Matara Beach with the participation of the Coast Conservation Dept officials including the Deputy Director Nimal Sri Rajaratne, Matara District Manager Shirani Maharachchi, Planning Director Vidura Presanna, former Municipal Councilor Nalin Ranasinghe, Matara Fisheries Asst. Director Sumith Kumara, Matara Police SI Dammika Amarasena, Legal Officer Aswin Kariyawasam and Asst. Manager, Renuka Ranaweera. A poster campaign and a cleaning programme along the Matara Beach was undertaken with the participation of schoolchildren and officials.
