ABBA planning a tour as a hologram act

Abba was one of the biggest pop groups of the 70’s until they broke up in 1982. They are now planning a tour as a hologram act live in 2019 according to reports quoting group member Benny Andersson. Music mogul Simon Fuller is working on the project where the digital members of Abba with a live band will perform with vocals from audio recordings of their Australian concert of 1977. The tour dates will be announced later. The former members of Abba reunited at a 50th anniversary party on 6th June 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. During that happy moment Frida and Agnetha sang ‘The Way Old Friends Do’ while Benny and Bjorn joined them on stage but did not sing.

Sam Smith retained control of the UK singles chart with his new song ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ as it spend a second week at the No: 1 position. The song is Smith’s fifth No: 1 UK single in his solo capacity or where he is the lead singer. His previous four chart topping singles chart in the UK are ‘Money On The Mind’ and ‘Stay With Me’ (2014), ‘Lay Me Down’ featuring John Legend and ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ (2015). Sam Smith has also been featured artist on two UK No: 1 songs ‘La La La’ for Nature Boy (2013) and ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ for Band Aid 30 (2014).

Post Malone scored his debut UK top 10 hit with ‘Rockstar’ featuring 21 Savage. The song debuted at No: 5 on the chart for the US rapper artist. ‘Rockstar’ is taken from Post Malone’s album ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’ and features hip hop artist 21 Savage.

Avicii’s new song ‘Lonely Together’ featuring Rita Ora crossed over to the UK top 10 from 21. The song is Ora’s fourth UK top 10 hit as a featured artist. The song is the second single from the Swedish DJ and producer’s extended album ‘AVICI (01)’ and ninth UK top 10 hit. Six writers including Avicii under his actual name Tim Bergling share credit for the lyrics.

The group Little Mix were reduced to a trio when they came over to Las Vegas to perform at the iHeart Radio music festival in the US on 23rd September. Perrie Edwards from the quartet was diagnosed with a gastric problem and was ordered hospitalisation. However on 25th September Edwards took to social media to say she was out of hospital and on the mend.

Ed Sheeran caused a revolution on the UK singles chart early this year when five songs from his album ‘÷’ (pronounced divide) debuted o the top in a single week. All of them were not official releases. ‘Perfect’ was one of the songs which went on to peak at No: 4. The romantic ballad has now been officially been released by Sheeran as the fourth single from his current album on 23rd September. Will it get another top 10 appearance?

With just three months more left to end 2017 some albums which have been slotted for release are ‘Beautiful Trauma’ by Pink on 13th October, ‘Flicker’ by Niall Horan – 20th October, ‘The Meaning Of Life’ – Kelly Clarkson, ‘Reputation’ by Taylor Swift – 10th November and ‘Songs Of Experience’ by U2 – 1st December.
