Long Run back with those unforgettable Eagles hits
View(s):Who hasn’t heard of The Eagles – the band who gave us Hotel California and a host of other unforgettable hits. Considered as one of the best rock bands to have emerged in the last few decades, The Eagles are no longer performing together following the death of leader and founder member Glenn Frey in March last year.
The American group Long Run has been endorsed by the Eagles management to do tribute concerts to ensure that the great songs created by them stay alive.
Following their successful first appearance in Colombo last year, the Long Run will be back in Sri Lanka to present the Eagles tribute concert once again on Sunday, October 15 at 7 p.m. at Nelum Pokuna. DK Promotions who presented the show last year is again behind the show this year too.
The Long Run was formed in 1999 in Los Angeles by a group of versatile professional musicians with a love of harmony and deep respect for one of the greatest rock bands of all time. After months of painstaking preparation rehearsing a long list of The Eagles’ chart-topping hits, they are regarded as the finest Eagles tribute band worldwide consistently delivering the lush harmonies and rich instrumental arrangements that made The Eagles an unforgettable part of rock history. The Long Run continues to successfully blend the classic Eagles sound into their own genuine live performance style, delighting audiences young and old.
The Long Run will give Eagles’ fans an opportunity to see them perform and listen to all Eagles hits on October 15 in a two-hour show. The lead singer of the band Kenny Cetera is the brother of Peter Cetera of Chicago fame. Kevin too has performed with Chicago on tours.
Damayantha Kuruppu of DK Promotions said that this year’s show will be different to last year’s with the addition of an unplugged segment. Tickets are flying fast, he adds.
The box plan is available at the Hilton Colombo poolside daily from 11 a.m to 6 p.m on weekdays. For details call 0777 744950.
