Dilshan’s Unichela retain MCA Premier title
MAS Intimates Unichela led by T.M. Dilshan retained the MCA Premier ‘League’ title for the second successive year, at the 25th Singer MCA Premier League 2018.
MAS Unichela, earlier had won the League title in 2014 and 2015 under the captaincy of Chamara Silva.
Commercial Credit & Finance and John Keells occupied the second and third spots respectively in the league table.
LB Finance, who inflicted the only defeat on MAS Unichela did remarkably well to take the fourth spot in there debut.
Hayleys Group and Kanrich Finance in their maiden appearance in the league failed to make an impression. Hayleys taking the ninth spot with a solitary win with Kanrich Finance is there without a single win.
The tournament was constantly pounded by bad weather, resulting the match programme being hurriedly rescheduled on several occasions despite the desperate efforts of the MCA Tournament Committee to give the teams their monies worth. Teejay Lanka (three washouts), Sampath Bank (two washouts) and Commercial Credit, LB Finance and Hayleys (one washout) were the most effected teams.
