Karuna House clinches championship title
View(s):Karuna House beat Upekkha House to clinch the championship title at the annual Old Girl’s Netball Tournament held at the Ananda Balika Vidyalaya ground.
The tournament was held for the third consecutive year with past pupils of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya competing under four Houses — Meththa, Muditha, Karuna and Upekkha.
The champion team, Karuna House was led by former school player Aruni Wasanthi, and her team mate Sanduli Tharaka became the best player of the tournament.
The losing finalists were led by Nadee Kumarage. The Old Girls’ Association of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo organised the annual Netball Tournament at the school premises.
President of the Sri Lanka Netball Federation, Trixie Nanayakkara graced the awards ceremony as the Chief Guest while Ananda Balika OGA Vice Presidents, Udayangani Senarathne and Dilini Shiromi Wijewardena, its Secretary Anuja de Silva, Advisor Ruchira Yapa Abeywardena and members also present. - Pix courtesy Ananda Balika OGA
