Pope Francis is all smiles as he examines a pictorial rendition of his pastoral visit to Sri Lanka in 2015. ‘Pope Francis in Sri Lanka, January 2015’, a coffee-table book commemorating his memorable visit in pictures, with a brief history of Catholicism in Sri Lanka, compiled and published by Express Newspapers (Cey) (Pvt) Ltd., under the patronage of Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Bishop of Colombo, was presented to the Pope by Kumar Nadesan, Managing Director of Express Newspapers, at Vatican City, Rome, Italy on Friday, October 13.
Pope Francis welcomed a group of Sri Lankan followers including members of the organising committee of his visit to Sri Lanka in 2015, at the Consistory Hall of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican on Friday, saying his own visit to Sri Lanka was a moment of “special grace” at a time when the nation was “striving for reconciliation and healing” after years of suffering and strife.
