Farzan Sikkander scores best at AmCham-FedEx Golf
View(s):The AmCham-FedEx Golf Tournament 2017 was held on Saturday, Sept.30, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
The 1st tee-off was at sunrise at 6 am and the last 4-ball came back to the Clubhouse at 5.30 pm. The overall best score of the day of 47 points was by Farzan Sikkander.
RCGC Club Champion Shamal Perera confirmed his place as the Club’ amateur ‘Top Dog’ with a Gross score of 33 points to be the overall Gross Winner.
In the AmCham members category, Shamal Perera was the winner with Sajith Gamage as Runner-up.
Louise Parson won the best score for the Ladies with 42 points, edging out Sharon Hall with 36 points. The consistent Sharon Hall also won the longest and most accurate ‘Drive’ and ‘Nearest to the Pin’ on the 9th Hole, while Nilkamal Perera was the longest and most accurate Drive in the Men’s challenge.
An array of prizes was distributed for many categories with the A Division going to Shamal Perera. In addition to being crowned the overall winner, Farzan Sikkander also won the ‘C’ Division with a score of 47 points. B.M.R Preena won the Masters Division and Prasanna Goonethillke won the Seniors Division with 43 points each.
As in the past, part proceeds from the Golf Tournament will go towards a selected charity of the RCGC.
