Retain T.N. Fernando Memorial Trophy in style
Royal College retained the T.N. Fernando Memorial Trophy with a resounding 46-6 victory over their traditional rivals St. Thomas’ College in their 48th Annual Rowing Regatta at the Beire Lake yesterday.
Royal won the prestigious Senior Fours (A Fours) boat race to annex the Cross Oars Trophy for third year in succession carrying on with their excellent touch right through this year. Hashen Hettigoda, the Royal skipper who was adjudged the Outstanding Oarsman this year, gave them the start and led from the front winning the first event of the day the Senior A Sculls.
