Unbeaten Renown SC continues to lead Stage Nine
View(s):Renown SC drubbed New Youngs SC by five goals to one in the Dialog Champions League Football Tournament ninth stage encounter and continued to remain unbeaten and on top of the points table.
Renown SC has collected 21 points having completed nine games, winning six and drawing three.
The Renown SC – New Youngs game was played at the Kelaniya Football Complex. Renown led 2-1 at the breather. The first goal was netted by M.C.M. Rifnaz in the second minute. New Youngs equalised through A.I.A. Arinze in the 25th minute. Renown’s second goal was scored by Job Michel in the 45 + 2 minute.
In the second half D. Francis the third goal scored in 78th minute for Renown. The fourth and fifth goals were scored by T. Mohammed in the 87th and 90th minutes.
At the Kalutara Vernon Fernando Stadium Blue Star SC beat Army SC 2-1. The score at the end of the first half was one all. The first goal was booted in by Asikur Rahuman for Army in the 22nd minute. The first goal for Blue Star was scored by N. Nijeem in the 46th minute. Blue Star’s second goal was scored by D.H. Roger in the 82nd minute.
At the Anuradhapura Public ground the game between Solid SC and Pelicans SC ended in a one all draw. Both goals were scored in the first half. The first goal for Pelicans was scored by Bandula Ratnayake in the 13th minute. Solid SC’s goal was booted in by S. Sanjeevan in the 21st minute.
