Unilever alumni association to hold AGM/fellowship 2017
View(s):The third Annual General Meeting of the Unilever alumni will be held on Saturday November 25 at Hilton Colombo Residences (Jaic Hilton Hotel ) Union Place, Colombo 2, commencing at 6.30 pm followed by a fellowship dinner of the past employees of Unilever and their spouses.
The association, formed at an inaugural meeting held on 29 October 2014, is celebrating its 3rd anniversary.
Unilever Alumni has a membership of over 900 residing at home and abroad and the 4th edition of the membership directory will be published this year and distributed to the members present at the AGM/fellowship on November 25 . Arrangements will be made to send overseas members their copy of the directory.
The objective of the association is to promote fellowship amongst the members and to carry out other social service projects deemed fit by the committee, according to a media release issued by the association. Membership of the association is open to former staff of Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd which include Lever Brothers (Ceylon) Ltd, Brooke Bond, Lipton and Cey-Tea.
The current Exco whose term ends in December 2017 consists of: President – Priyantha Kolonnage, Immediate Past President – Kamal Jaimon, Vice President – Asanga Karunaratna, Secretary – Asita Abayasekera and Treasurer – Asoka Weerasekera/Charles Samuel. Committee members: J. C Ekanayaka, Sunil Meewewa, Edgar Tavarayan, C Thurairajah, Ira Waniganayaka, Dayani Weerasinghe, Jayanthi Wijesinghe, Dinesh Hamangoda
