The UN should declare a day for dengue, says top Indian physician
The United Nations should declare a day for dengue, the governor of the Indian Chapter of the American College of Physicians Dr. A.Muruganathan said addressing the innaugural academic sessions of the Sri Lankan Society of Internal Medicine (SLSIM)in Kandy recently.
Dr. Muruganathan was the Guest of Honour at the meeting presided by the Society’s president Dr.Wasantha Dissanayake.
Dr. Muruganathan said there are so many days for various issues, but not a “Day ” for dengue which is a burning global issue. ” It is time that pressure be brought on the Untied Nations to declare a Day for Dengue,” he added.
He said he was happy to be among distinguished group of Physicians adding that all assistance would be given,to strengthen the society formed last year.
