The Sunday Times Sports Editor, Champika Fernando was named Journalist of the Year at the Dialog-Sri Lanka Cricket annual Awards Ceremony held at the Waters’ Edge Hotel in Battaramulla last Tuesday. Champika has been a livewire in cricket journalism in Sri Lanka for the past one-and-a-half decades and now is a well recognised and reputed cricket correspondent in the country. He has been a critic and productive writer on cricket and is held in high regard and has earned a reputation on the field of cricket as a senior journalist.
