Engineering Faculty ‘Freshers’ enter Peradeniya University

University of Peradeniya (UoP) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Upul B. Dissanayake addressing new entrants to the Engineering Faculty, at the E.O.E. Periera Auditorium, said they have entered a prestigious University of the country. It is their duty to learn, depart and serve the county, where taxpayers have paid for their stay at the University.
Parents of the students, who were with them until they entered the Halls of residence, were also present. VC Prof Dissanayake further said they have all the facilities to learn and a conducive atmosphere for this purpose, and they have been selected from many who have aspired to enter this prestigious University. “The most qualified and learned men will expose them to their teaching and they have only to learn and become useful men of society.” – L.B.
