Principal on police bail for assaulting schoolgirls outside class
View(s):A school Principal in the Polonnaruwa District was arrested and released on police bail for allegedly assaulting 3 schoolgirls for being in the school compound, instead of in their classrooms.
The 3 students had reportedly been in the garden after their dresses became wet while repairing a leak in the pipe, which had been caused by some junior students.
However, the Principal had found fault with the students and allegedly beat them with a stick, causing injuries to them, with one of them being admitted to Polonnaruwa hospital.
Police said they will be seeking the Attorney General Dept’s advice to initiate action against him. - PCK
