Keep a date with Freddy if you missed out in September
View(s):Fans of stand-up comedy are in for a treat as FREDDY Strikes Back returns to the Lionel Wendt for a repeat show. The original run of the comedy show played out to full houses in September and the five performers are back to entertain Colombo audiences again.
FREDDY Strikes Back! The repeat show, features five stand-up comedians Dominic Kellar, Gehan Blok, Dino Corera, Daminda Wijayaratne and Ifaz Bin Jameel. Each of the performers speaks from a unique perspective and talks about issues that are uniquely Sri Lankan. Ifaz Bin Jameel speaks about being a Muslim and the idiosyncrasies of the Sri Lankan Muslim community.
Daminda Wijayaratne speaks about the desperation of some people, people who want to migrate, people who want to be featured on the Hi Magazine, people who like to gamble and people who like to have big weddings. Dino Corera has a fascinating viewpoint of Sri Lankans with memory issues, politicians, striking doctors and irritating Sri Lankan traits. Gehan Blok covers a subject that is common to everyone, Schools. Dominic Kellar in his inimitable style touches on topics such as being a Burgher, to presidents, parties, porn addiction and painters.
Freddy Strikes Back will be back at the Lionel Wendt Theatre from November 29 to December 2. The show is produced by Sirraj Abdul Hameed and is written and directed by Feroze Kamardeen.
