The Heart of the Wild – A Personal Journey, to be launched on Tuesday (December 5), at the Barefoot Gallery Colombo, is a captivating collection of adventures of amateur photographer and lifelong nature-lover, Nawaz Vilcassim. A Sri Lankan born Singaporean-trained lawyer, he has spent most of his working life in Singapore after a short stint at the Attorney General’s Department in Sri Lanka.
All proceeds of this book will be directed towards Sri Lanka’s cancer patients. This endeavour is supported by the Rotary Club of Colombo.
Illustrated with sensitive and perceptive photography, this collection of Vilcassim’s encounters with the wild, transport the reader across the world, from Sri Lanka, to India, to Africa and to the Galapagos Islands, to reveal some of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals and beautiful scenery.
