DIMO 800 gets accolade at National Green Awards 2017
View(s):Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) has won a merit award, under the vehicle servicing category for their flagship location DIMO 800, Mercedes-Benz Centre of Excellence for the environmental conservation efforts.
It was the only company from the automobile sector to receive an award at the recent National Green Awards 2017.
These awards organised by the Central Environmental Authority have acknowledged and appreciated the organisations, institutes and individuals that have made unique contribution to the field of environmental conservation.
The management of DIMO unanimously decided to pursue a green building concept for the Centre that would minimise their impact on the environment, a media release issued by the company said.
The Centre has the latest green technology energy conservation features such as a highly energy efficient chiller system together with high-efficiency HVAC equipment, LED lighting, and a sophisticated centralised building management system, etc.
Together these features have enabled DIMO 800 Mercedes-Benz Centre of Excellence to receive USGBC LEED Gold Certification.
As a signatory to the UN Global Compact DIMO ensures that the value added initiatives undertaken towards Environment Sustainability are in line with one or more Sustainable Development Goals declared by the UN.
