View(s):Advantages of Science
Science has made our lives very comfortable. The modern age is the Age of Science and new inventions are always being made to make our lives better, happier and more comfortable. Appliances are used more or less by man, right from the moment we rise from our bed in the morning, till we go to bed at night.
Science has given us computers, televisions, mobile phones, satellites and many others. Our life expectancy has increased because many diseases such as smallpox, malaria and tuberculosis, which were incurable earlier, are now treatable because of the progress in medical science. We can talk to a person in any corner of the world with the help of telephones and mobile phones.
However science has also given us destructive power. It has given man hydrogen bombs, nuclear and atomic bombs too.
Science is a great friend of mankind and should be used for establishing peace in the world!

A day with my grandparents
It was a holiday and my parents dropped me with my grandparents. Because I couldn’t play any video games I thought I would just have to stay. But my grandpapa came and took me upstairs and we sat in the dining area. My grandpapa told me there was a fun game, ‘Read and Win’. In the beginning I thought it would be boring but then we started the game and it was great. It was the first time I ever played that game and after an hour it finished and grandpapa won the game.
He made lunch and my grandmamma made me a pudding which I loved so much. After lunch I went upstairs and went to bed and my grandmamma came and told me a story. I fell asleep and got up by 5.30 p.m. Then grandpapa told me to get ready and we went for an evening walk and grandpapa bought me candyfloss and we came home.
I watched television for about 30 minutes and grandmamma made dinner. At 9 p.m., I helped to clean up before I went to sleep.
At 11 p.m., my parents came to take me and I told grandpapa and grandmamma I will see them again soon.

Mother
There is only one person who shows her love and who will live or die for you. She will specially sacrifice lots of things for you to be happy and have a bright future. Even though we are her children, we must make her our best friend and share our secrets with her. Then she can give answers to our problems. We have to respect her. As our kind-hearted mother, she makes nutritious and delicious food for us to be healthy and strong. When we are sick she is the one who takes care of us no matter what time whether it is night or day. She is the only one who will never leave you. She will never make you sad.
Sometimes you will be displeased with her but she is the only one who teaches you what is right and wrong. We must always treat her with kindness, no matter how old she is. Ignore the difficulties and love and care for your mother as much as you can. There are no words to say how much she loves us. No one can love you like your mother does. So we must love our mother and thank her for all the sacrifices she made for us.

Social Media
In my opinion, social media is both good and bad, as it has many advantages as well as disadvantages.
If we learn how to use Social Media in a correct way, then social media is a good thing. We can share many things with people like advice, morals and warnings and even make new friends. But still there are some people who take social media as something bad. Abusing is one major negative factor people do through social media. Many people fall into great trouble due to things like this.
Some even get killed or commit suicide. If there are no people who use social media as a bad thing, then social media can also be a way to stop all bad things happening in this world. So, what is better, stop abuse or spread abuse? In the next generation, social media may even become something necessary. I hope that in the future, social media will be used for only good purposes.

My class teacher
My class teacher is Mrs. Jayasinghe. She is about thirty-five years old. She is slim and fair. She wears her hair in a plait. Our class teacher is a teacher of English. She teaches us English language very attractively. She is very efficient in teaching. She makes us very happy throughout her lessons. It is very easy for us to understand and remember what she teaches us because she comes well prepared for the lesson.
She knows how to attract students to her lessons. She entrusts every student with activities very cleverly. She comes to the class very early in the morning and directs us to clean the classroom. She always tries to inculcate good habits and human qualities in our mind.
I wish her a long life.

I am a tree
I am a tree. I am very useful to human beings. Birds make nests on me. I bear fruits. I live in a home garden. The owner of the home garden planted me. Bees and butterflies come and suck nectar from my flowers. I give food, gum, wood and many other things to people. The fruits I bear are very tasty. Human beings and birds eat the fruits I have. I like to go around the world but I can’t go because I am a tree.
I think you know the parts of a tree. I also have the same parts. They are fruits, flowers, leaves, branches, stem and other parts. Birds are my friends because I help them. Other trees are my friends. In the daytime I release oxygen and take in carbon dioxide. At last I am going to give you an advice. It is, please don’t cut trees. That is a bad habit.
