Isipathana win inaugural Schools Golf tourney
View(s):The ever popular Inter School Golf Championship got underway at the Royal Colombo Golf Club Saturday with a Shot-gun Tee-off, in the Stable-ford Format, with each School Team represented by 4 members per team of which the best 3 Scores count.
Over 220 players representing 54 Schools Teams with some prominent schools having up to a maximum of Six Teams per School, competed for the coveted Title of “Inter School Golf Championship Trophy 2017”.
The intense competition, rivalry and spirit of the game was experienced and enjoyed throughout the day!!!
The scoring and release of results more difficult than on an Election Day!!! However, word had it that Isipathana Maha Vidyalaya team captured the Championship Trophy for the first time, beating S Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia in the final.
The Championship was sponsored by DFCC.
