Instead of featuring the usual Christmassy-picture in this issue, which readers would most likely expect, the Business Times has opted for this stand-out feature at an international hotel chain. Anantara and AVANI Hotels & Resorts announced that from January 1 its hotels across Asia including restaurant Il Mare at Anantara Tangalle will be substituting 2.5 million plastic straws used every year for biodegradable and recyclable alternatives – bamboo straws.
