Kelaniya University holds guest lecture on data analysis

The Department of Library and Information Science with the Library and Information Science Students’ Association of the University of Kelaniya organised a special guest lecture on “How to analyse data for research purposes” on December 18 at the board room of the faculty of Social Sciences.
The resource person was Prof. K.A.P. Siddhisena, Emeritus Professor of Demography from the faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, the Kelaniya University said.
Prof. K.A.P. Siddhisena explained about specific methods to be used when analysing data to carry out high-quality research. His lecture was more productive for students who are currently involved in research work, and later, the lecture became more interesting because of the questions posed by students.
Dr. M.G. Kularatna, Director, Research Centre of the1 the Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Ven. Lagumdeniye Piyarathana Thera, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Prof. W.A. Weerasooriya and other academic staff of the Department of Library and Information Science and the undergraduates attended the event.
