Denuwan continues to dominate the Emerging segment
Leg-spinner Dellon Peiris, who had a wonderful week on the field, guiding S. Thomas’ College to an outright win with a five-fer, continues to lead the All-Island Schools segment of the Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy /Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 competition reaches the end of 14th week.
He took his total to 15114 after adding up 1728 combined votes while taking a gigantic lead of 6290 against Sachin Silva of St. Peter’s College. Dellon looks well set and geared up for a good finish when the competition completes its halfway mark. Sachin, placed second, added 1312 combined votes to follow Dellon for yet another week.
At third is Vihan Gunasekara of D.S. Senanayake College, who has slowed progress a bit than the earlier weeks. However he trials Vihan by 4292 votes, a count that may take some time to catch up. Ananda College skipper Asel Sigera follows in at fourth with Kavin Peiris of Lumbini College at fifth.
Denuwan Perera of Carey College, continues to dominate the Emerging Schools category. His total reaches 7086 by this week after adding up 1052 combined votes. He leads Kenula Gunaratne of St. Aloysius College Ratnapura, by 2777 votes, while further moving ahead without must trouble.
Kenula who took his total to 4309 has managed to cement his place at second for yet another week with a handsome addition of 652 combined votes. He leads third-placed Sonara Karunathunga of Ananda Sasthralaya, by 945 votes. Thimira Malshan, also of Ananda Sasthralaya, is at fourth place way behind team mate Sonara, while Heshan Madushanka of Piliyandala Central remains at fifth position.
Harshitha Samarawickrama of Anula Vidyalaya, continues to lead the Girls’ Category, maintaining her lead by 1596 votes against Pabasara Ranabahu of Rathnavali Girls’ School Gampaha. Harshitha’s total count reached 4834 by this week as Pabasara maintained her progress with a tally of 3238. Kaveesha Dilhani of Devapathiraja MV, Rathgama and Ruwini Nandasena of St. Joseph’s Girls School are the other two contenders in the list.

Players who wish to enter the fray must confirm their participation by registering online with — www.dialog.lk/cricket/register. Online voting will be open until April 5, 2018. Both coupon votes and online votes will be counted on a weekly basis and the official results published every week beginning next Sunday in the five newspapers and its websites. The deadline for COUPONS and ONLINE VOTES will be every Thursday Noon. Online Votes received after the weekly cutoff time will be counted for the next week, while for Coupons, ONLY those numbered for the particular week will be taken into count.
