In addition a number of wayside eateries have also appeared and are geared to provide a range of food items at competitive prices. Many more small entrepreneurs are joining the business.

The Galle Face, Slave Island, Fort, Pettah and Hulftsdorp areas in the city are some of the areas where business has been thriving. Not only locals, but also foreigners are among those who patronize these wayside businesses.

Today’s busy life style too is responsible for drawing more people to these eateries and waside restaurants.

Despite the city’s changing skyline and the numerous upcoming five-star hotels and restaurants, these wayside eateries have the appearance of remaining a permanent feature in  years to come…
