Rohan scalps 13 to help Tissa Central to a 52-run win at Debarawewa

register a 52 run win over Debarawewa National School. The Under-19 Division II first round encounter was hosted by Debarawewa
National School.
Twenty wickets fell on day one when Tissa Central were dismissed for 125 runs and Debarawewa NS dismissed for 173. Chathura Jayanath and Ushan Thisal Damsara of Debarawewa NS captured five wickets each while Rohan Sanjaya captured seven wickets for
Tissa Central.
Tissa Central starting their second innings with a 48 run deficit did well to post 205 runs. Sanchana Lanka scored 42 runs while Ramesh Madusanka proved his consistency with a well compiled 37. Chathura Jayanath claimed his second five wicket haul and a match bag of ten. Chathura has captured 67 wickets this season.
Debarawewa needing 158 runs to win fell short by 52 runs falling prey to Sanjaya’s spin. Sanjaya captured six wickets while Mithira Thenura and Tharaka Sandaruwan captured two wickets each.
Of the forty wickets that fell in the game thirty four wickets fell to spinners of which 25 were to left arm spin.
