British School down Royal Institute in T20
View(s):The British School in Colombo (BSC) defeated Royal Institute by 23 runs in an Under-17 Twenty20 cricket encounter worked off at the Shalika grounds in Narahenpita.
BSC who were put into bat piled up an impressive 141 for nine from their 20 overs with Vinod Weerasinghe leading from the front. The dashing opening batsman smashed a quick-fire 53 runs and received excellent support from Salman Akbarally (18) and Kyle Crossland (22) with both making valuable contributions.
In reply, Royal Institute were in trouble from the start following an inspired spell of fast bowling from Rex Nanayakkara who returned fine figures of two wickets for four runs from five overs. Kavinda Subasinghe (2/24) and Vinod Weerasinghe were also among the wickets for BSC as Royal Institute managed to score only 118 for six wickets from their 20 overs.
