Drake has extended his stay at the helm of the UK singles chart for a third straight week with ‘God’s Plan’. The song had 7.1 million streams in the week leading up the countdown. Meanwhile the 31 year old Canadian artiste extended his acts of charity in the US when on 6th February he donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Shelter in Miami, Florida which provides shelter to homeless women and children. On the same day reports say Drake walked into a supermarket and paid up all the bills of customers present which was around 60.

Rudimental provided the strongest challenge on the UK chart with his song ‘These Days’ featuring Jess Glynne, Mackelmore and Dan Caplen. ‘These Day’s had the most downloads of the week but still short to topple Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’. ‘These Days’ advanced on the singles chart from 11 to No: 2 to give the four member drum and bass group their fifth top 10 UK hit song where they take the lead role. ‘These Day’s is the second single to be taken off their next untitled album and is a follow up to last top hit ‘Sun Come Up’ which peaked at No:7 featuring James Arthur. Jess Glynne the English singer is on vocals with US rapper Macklemore and English R&B singer Dan Caplen.

The US band Portugal.The Man have made their first entry on the UK singles chart with ‘Feel It Still’ which took a climb from 13 to 9 on the top 10. The psychedelic rock band bring back a sound that is largely unknown to the current generation of music fans. ‘Feel It Still’ is doing well in the US and now has crossed over the UK and Europe. The song is taken from Portugal.The Man’s current album ‘Woodstock’

Having conquered the UK singles chart with her infection Latin flavoured ‘Havana’ last year, Camila Cabello has returned to the singles chart with a mid tempo R&B ballad ‘Never Be The Same’. The song climbed from 14 to reach the No: 10 spot. ‘Never Be The Same’ is the second release from her album ‘Camila’.

Normani Kordei has become the second member of the all- girl group Fifth Harmony to sign to solo deal. The 21 year old signed as a song writer with Stellar Songs. The other member of the group who has solo recording deal is Lauren Jauregui who is now with Columbia Records.

Pop singer and songwriter Emeli Sande and veteran singer Sandie Shaw who won the Eurovision Song contest in 1967 for ‘Puppet On A String’ received their MBE medals from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on 8th February.

Alexandra Burke has announced she will release a singles called ‘Shadow’ on 23rd February and follow it up with the album ‘The Truth Is’ on 16th March. It will be Burke’s third album. The former X- Factor winner’s last album ‘Heartbreak On Hold’ was released in 2012 but after that she pursed other interest such as acting in the West End and last year took part the popular TV reality series Strictly Come Dancing where she came ended up as runner up.
