Shenal shines as Loyola dominate
An unbeaten knock of 77 by Shenal Charuka saw Loyola College Bopitiya dominate proceedings against Christ King College Ja-Ela in their inaugural Battle of Friends big match played at Kadirana.
The second day’s play saw Loyola after bowling out Christ King for a low score of 98 runs. Loyola in their turn, resuming from their overnight score of 144 for 8 were only able to add another two runs before being bowled out for 146.
Christ King College batting the second time with a deficit of 48 runs was making steady progress after being spearheaded by a half ton from Udan Colombagamage (53), to go into the lunch break on day two with a score of 137 for 4.
