Angora and Cordova Houses emerge joint champions
Angora and Cordova Houses emerged joint champions at the annual Inter-House Sports Meet of the Post Primary Section of Zahira College Colombo, which was held at the College ground in Maradana recently. Both Angora and Cordova houses finished off with 161 points each while Baghdad House was placed overall second with 120 points. With 114 points, Istanbul House was placed overall fourth.
A large number of enthusiastic students displayed their sporting skills on the day of the event where teachers, parents and well wishers turned out in numbers. The meet was held under the patronage of Principal of Trizvy Marikkar while Col. Manjula Kariyawasam, Director of Physical Education Development and Training of Ministry of Education and Director of Spectra Logistics A.M.A. Amir, also a distinguished old boy, distributed awards to the winners of the event.
Members of the Board of Governors (BoG), Chairman Fouzul Hameed, Secretary Alavi Mukthar, Sports Sub Committee members headed by M.S.M. Faiz and all BoG members, Principal Trizviiy Marikkar, Prefects of Games and Meet Secretary Muhiseen Ariff, Senior Vice Principal Ananda Ponnemperuma, Vice Principals, Old Boys Association President M.U.M. Azmi were also present.
