Road closure today for Ironman 70.3
View(s):Colombo Fort, Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya and Wellawatte areas will experience travel restrictions today (25) due to Ironman, an International Triathlon taking place in Colombo, Police said. According to a Police announcement, Chaitya Road in Fort, Galle Face Centre Road, Galle Road till Kollupitiya junction, Kollupitiya Railway Station Road and Marine Drive up to Wellawatte, will see road closures from time to time, from morning to noon.
Ironman 70.3 is the very first international triathlon to take place in Sri Lanka, with over 50 international triathletes participating in the event that begins from Galle Face Green. The Triathlon will include a 1.9-km sea swim, 90-km bike ride and a 21.1-km run, within a seven-hour duration.
