CASA’s young shipping professionals organise “CASA OPEN QUIZ 2018″
View(s):The CASA open quiz 2018 conducted by the Young Shipping Professionals of Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) in collaboration with the International Quizzing Association (Sri Lanka branch) on March 3 was a resounding success with the participation of 34 teams covering various industry sectors, the organisers (CASA) said in a media release.
Held at the BMICH, Colombo, the sectors involved were logistics and transportation, liner shipping, banking and finances, schools and educational institutes, independent teams and other commercial establishments.
The quiz was an open one covering a wide range of topics including current affairs, international trade, sports, games, entertainment, history, science and technology, general knowledge and IQ. The winner of the quiz was an independent team by the name of Masterminds walking away with a cash award of Rs. 150,000 along with the Gold award, followed by young and dynamic schoolboys from Ananda College Colombo who were runners up bagging prize money of Rs. 75,000 along with the Silver Award. The 3rd place was awarded to another individual team, “Declining returns” who won the Bronze award along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
Apart from the overall winners there was recognition for the respective sector/industry winners who walked away with a trophy. They are as follows:
Independent teams and other commercial establishments – The Masterminds; Schools and educational institutes – Ananda College; Banking and finance -People’s Bank; logistics and transportation – SAGT and Liner shipping – Maersk Lanka.
