NKAR partners AIESEC Asia Pacific Conference 2018
View(s):AIESEC, the world’s largest youth run organisation, has partnered with NKAR, a leading destination management company and tour operator to host the Asia Pacific Conference comprising over 24 countries from the region, a media release issued by the organisation said.
AIESEC will be hosting the annual assembly of its leaders from the 24 countries in the Asia Pacific region aimed at celebrating youth leadership, cultural diversity and global togetherness.
The APC 2018 will be held in Sri Lanka from March 19 to 24 in Colombo and Chilaw. The opening ceremony will be held at the Sports Ministry auditorium and will welcome 250 delegates from more than 35 countries to Sri Lanka with colourful Sri Lankan traditional performances.
The purpose of this conference is to be the unique platform to the regional network of AIESEC Leaders to gather in order to drive initiatives, Implement Strategies and develop the leadership they need to achieve peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential.
Signing of a MOU, between the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NKAR Dr. Damian Fernando and the President of AISEC Sohan Wijegunawardena took place at Cinnamon Lakeside in the presence of NKAR’s Managing Director Nilmin Nanayakkara.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Nanayakkara emphasised the importance of youth involvement in the tourism industry and the contribution they can make in order to implement the sustainable tourism initiatives all over the world.
NKAR with over 38 years of experience in the tourism industry is a member of a diversified group of companies (Devagiri Group (Pvt.) Ltd), with interests in plantations, manufacturing of tea and rubber and hoteliering. The members in the group include Iddamaldeniya Estate Ltd and Devagiri Hotels (Pvt.) Ltd (Insight Resort).
