Son’s mission to preserve father’s legacy
‘Pacific Rim Uprising’, an American sci-fi thriller, a sequel to the 2013 film Pacific Rim by Guillermo del Toro is now being screened at theatres in Colombo.
Written and directed by Steven S. DeKnight in his feature-film directorial debut, the film stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, and Adria Arjona, with Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Burn Gorman.
Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.
Ten years after the Battle of the Breach, the oceans have become restless once again, but the Jaeger programme has evolved into the next generation for the PPDC.
However, a mysterious organization has reopened the Breach for the Kaiju and a Jaeger has gone rogue. Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, rises up to stand against the evolved Kaiju and the mysterious rogue Jaeger, Obsidian Fury, to prevent humanity’s extinction and preserve his father’s legacy.
The film will be released at Liberty By Scope Cinemas, Savoy, Cinemax – Ja-Ela and 12 other theatres around the country.
