Multiple victories were achieved by CDB in the sporting arena when the CDB Finance Netball Team became runners up in Div. A and mixed team became champions in A Division at the Mercantile Netball Championship 2018 organised by the Mercantile Netball Association and played at Torrington Ground Colombo 7. Abitha Tharumarajah was named Netball Queen and Danuka Rathnayake received the title of Best Male Player. Four teams in Division A category and five teams in Mixed Team category participated in the tournament.
CDB’s constant quest to keep raising the bar in its winning spirit is evident with these wins which add to its prowess at the Mercantile Rugby Football Sevens when the CDB Finance Rugby Team emerged Champions in the Ball Shield Category and the Women’s Tag Rugby Category.
