A Bollywood action thriller in town – Baaghi 2
‘Baaghi 2’, a Bollywodd action thriller sequel to the 2016 film ‘Baaghi’ is now being screened in theatres in Colombo and suburbs. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is a remake of the 2016 Telugu movie Kshanam.
The film revolves around Ronny who is hired by ex-lover Neha, to track down her daughter Riya, who had been kidnapped.‘Baaghi 2’ also makes a connection to Sri Lanka, as the former beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez is recreating a new version of ‘Ek do teen’ which originally featured Madhuri Dixit in the 1998 film Tezaab.
India media reported that Fernandez has said that she was honoured with the opportunity to step into Madhuri’s shoes for the song. Fernandez was anxious to see the response of Madhuri Dixit who performed a memorable dance sequence for the iconic 90s song. “I can’t wait for Madhuri ma’am to watch the song. It is my tribute to her. Her performance in the original is unmatchable. Forget me, no one can ever come close to her,” Jacqueline said in a statement. “Jacqueline was the ‘perfect choice’” said Ahmed Khan to Indian media speaking about casting Jacqueline for Dixit’s dance.
The cast of ‘Baaghi 2’ includes Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff and Randeep Hooda. A CEL release ‘Baaghi 2’ is now being screened at MC – Colombo, Lido – Borella, City Cinema – Mt. Lavinia and a number of theatres around the country.
