Lasal Jayawardena battles his way through to the National Chess Squad
View(s):For the first time in the history of International School’s Chess, a student from Lyceum International School, Nugegoda earned a slot in the National Chess squad, with Lasal Jayawardena taking this honour.
Lasal, a Grade 11 student, has been able to fight his way through to becoming ninth in the selection event, knocking out some of the National level ‘Star Class’ players who were in the National Squad previously.
