‘Café Sociale’:Pairing chats with coffee and work
Bringing to Colombo an exceptionally designed socializing hotspot in town, ‘Café Sociale’ sets up its brand new flagship outlet on Galle Road in Bambalapitiya.

While coffee shops in Colombo today are not just places where people hangout to have a cup of coffee, but rather they are transforming into mini work spaces for potential businesses to kick start. The trend is that new business ideas and startups are born at coffee shops as of lately.
Café Sociale offers a place to chill out along with a few spaces where startups and small businesses can rent out. There are meeting rooms for ten people and also a conference room where 30 people can be accommodated. The whole idea behind the café concept is for people to socialize, engage in conversations and build new contacts.
The interior of the café is rustic and gives a relaxing environment to the customers. Another unique feature at the café is the pet friendly backyard.
The backyard is currently occupied as a car park and there is space for people who bring along their pets to hangout. Outside parties can also be held in the backyard.
Café Sociale’s dishes have been selected by Consultant Chef Thushara Gunawardhana, who has over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry in Australia and Sri Lanka.
Café Sociale will be open from 10 a.m to 10 p.m daily with free Wifi access.
The food menu at Café Sociale has some distinctive names for various dishes that are names of English movies. The God Father, Chicken Run, The Italian Job, Catch Me If You Can, Bridge On The River Thai, Meat The Parents, Life of Pie, Shaun of the Bread are some of the food dishes that are handpicked and named by Chef Gunawardhana himself. Some of the premium meat are imported from Australia. If anyone happens to visit Café Sociale, they should definitely try the Chicken Run and Grill Bill Vol1, it’s just simply appealing.
Tonino Lamborghini Espresso coffee from Italy is introduced to Sri Lanka for the first time at Café Sociale, The coffee tastes pleasant with the right mix of ingredients.
Espresso, Cappuccino, Hot Chocolate, Café Mocha, Cortado are some of the coffee varieties available. There are also other beverages namely The Coconut Revolution, The Deathly Marshmallows, Dairy Poppins, Sucker Punch and so on.
All equipment used in the kitchen are from the same brand in the US, Rational. The brand plays a major role in preparing the beverage or meal at the right time within a particular temperature.
