Alliance Finance Brand Ambassador – Sachin Dias, and his partner Buwaneka Gunathileka became the first and only Sri Lankans to make history in Gold Coast Australia at the 21st Commonwealth Games. After many intense and strenuous matches against the best competitors from the Commonwealth countries, we are proud to announce that the Alliance Finance Brand Ambassador to the XXI Commonwealth Games ranked fourth after losing their bronze medal tie to Malaysian duo of Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan 21/8 and 21/13 in the men’s badminton doubles.
No Sri Lankan has ever come this far in the Men’s Doubles event at the prestigious Commonwealth Games with the best being the round of 32 back in the 2014 Glasgow Games.
