A group of 20, 2nd year undergraduates of the Engineering Faculty, University of Moratuwa, accompanied 16 students from the School for the Blind, Ratmalana, on a pilgrimage to Sri Pada on April 24.  Undergraduate Ranjan Kotalawela, through a teacher in the School, initiated the arrangements for this meritorious pilgrimage.

A father of a student donated the mace to lead the Nade to Sri Pada. Expenses for the pilgrimage were met from contributions from the undergraduates.  It was a fulfilling experience to afford this kind of spiritual upliftment with an excursion to Sri Pada, which the disabled students considered a meritorious act, to have received the opportunity to worship the sacred footprint of the Buddha.

The undergraduates were Sandun, Madushan, Kavin, Lahiru, Janadu, Janith, Dananjaya, Chamindu, Kasun, Oshan, Madumali, Thushara, Dananjaya, Dinuja, Manuja, Chamindu, Malshan, Malitta, Oshada, Rashitha. Pix & Text by Rekha Tharangani Fonseka- Moratuwa Correspondent
