Blind students scale spiritual heights, courtesy visionary Moratuwa undergrads
View(s):A group of 20, 2nd year undergraduates of the Engineering Faculty, University of Moratuwa, accompanied 16 students from the School for the Blind, Ratmalana, on a pilgrimage to Sri Pada on April 24. Undergraduate Ranjan Kotalawela, through a teacher in the School, initiated the arrangements for this meritorious pilgrimage.
A father of a student donated the mace to lead the Nade to Sri Pada. Expenses for the pilgrimage were met from contributions from the undergraduates. It was a fulfilling experience to afford this kind of spiritual upliftment with an excursion to Sri Pada, which the disabled students considered a meritorious act, to have received the opportunity to worship the sacred footprint of the Buddha.
