Cancer survivor now faces severe dental problems
View(s):A bone marrow transplant saved U.A. Janadhi from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), a cancer of the white blood cells, in 2013, but after overcoming some serious health issues, the latest is severe dental problems for which he needs to make many visits to India.
Having sold everything they had to save his son from death, U.A.S. Amarasekara is now seeking a helping hand from the generous public to overcome this latest challenge.
“Please help us,” pleads Mr. Amarasekara giving details of what Janadhi has to undergo at India’s Apollo Specialty Hospital in Chennai to save his teeth. To be performed in two stages, the treatment includes extracting 11 teeth, root canal treatment with ceramic crowns for five teeth, cervix tooth fillings for two teeth, oral prophylaxis and replacement of three teeth either by means of implant or ceramic bridges.
Mr. Amarasekara is struggling to collect about Rs. 1.5 million to enable him to sort out the dental issues of Janadhi who is now 20 years old.
