Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Oarsmen won the Gerry Silva Trophy as Men’s Overall Champions at the 33rd National Rowing Championship concluded at the Diyawanna Rowing Centre.

The Deva Henry Trophy presented to the Women’s Overall Champions was won by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) Oarswomen, while made soldiers emerged winners in the Men’s Over (O)-18 category, winning the Major Percy Fernando Trophy.

The SLA Oarswomen clinched the Nalin Mendis Trophy in the Women’s O-18 event. Royal College, Colombo won the Men’s Under (U)-18 category and Ladies College clinched the Flipper Trophy as Women’s U-18 Champions. (SLN) established a new National record in the Men’s Open Four with a time of 6min.18sec. Ladies College retained the Women’s U-18 Championship with 3 Golds, including the Women U-18 Pairs, clocking 8min 40sec.

Royal College clinched the Men’s U-18 Championship with 2 Golds, in the Men’s U-18 Double Scull, timing 7min 17sec and the Men’s U-18 Scull in a time of 8min 6sec. Hashini Hettigoda (Musaeus College) won the Best School Girl Sculler, even though Musaeus didn’t enjoy any success at the event. Gavith Cooray (Royal College) won the award for Best Schoolboy Sculler.
