Rajitha’s “Adara Wasthuwa” at Wendt
View(s):Award winning playwright Rajitha Dissanayake’s latest play ‘Aadara Wasthuwa’ (Love Object) will go on the boards at 3.30pm and 7.00 pm on May 20 at the Lionel Wendt theatre.
The drama seeks to question the notion of love; its boundaries and politics and the extent to which it determines our behaviour when confronted by other overpowering conditions.
Rajitha Dissanayake ranks among the top original playwrights to emerge in the last two decades and has produced acclaimed and award winning plays like ‘Nathuwa Bari Minihek’, ‘Apahu Herenna Ba’, ‘Sihina Horu Aran’ and ‘Weeraya Merila’. His scripts focus on burning socio-political issues and have drawn crowds, sparked debate, won awards and toured internationally.
Shyam Fernando, Nadeeshani Peliarachchi, Thumindu Dodantenna and Kasun Chathuranga are in the cast while Kapila Poogalaarachchi handles the music, Chamara Wijesinghe set design, Priyantha Dissanayake make-up, Ranga Samarakoon light designing and Vijit h Nuwan and Nalin Lusena are stage managers.
All seats are box planned and tickets are available only at the theatre.
