Dr Amunugama participated at the annual sessions of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, in Geneva, from May 14-16.
French Consel Europeen pour la Recherche Nucleaire (CERN) is the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. It is a provisional body founded in 1952, with the mandate to establish a world-class fundamental Physics Research Organisation in Europe, at a time when Pure Physics Research concentrated on understanding the inside of the atom, hence the word ‘Nuclear’.
